Here at the Kumon Shepherd’s Bush Study Centre, we are dedicated to helping each child achieve their full potential by providing personalised maths and English study programmes.

Established in 2010, our centre has been offering a one-of-a kind learning experience where students begin their Kumon journey at their ‘just right’ level and progress through the material at their own pace.

At the Kumon Shepherd’s Bush Study Centre, we maintain open communication with parents to ensure that learning objectives are being met and encourage students to regularly attend classes each week. We also take great pride in recognising and celebrating student achievements through certificates and awards to acknowledge progress.

Our dedicated team consists of experienced staff members who are committed to supporting the students’ development.

About the Instructor

Shepherd's Bush - Vinita Kashyap
My name is Vinita Kashyap and I am proud to have been the Kumon Instructor at the Kumon Shepherd’s Bush Study Centre since 2010.

I have always been passionate about educating and motivating young people and was inspired to take this role by watching my own children excel in school thanks to Kumon. Their successes lead me to become a Kumon Instructor and share those achievements with other children.

My true passion lies in developing the confidence of and nurturing a love of learning in my students. With my extensive experience working with children, I offer a high level of expertise in unlocking their abilities and potential. I wholeheartedly recommend Kumon as a platform to cultivate confident and resourceful students who can excel in any field they choose.

I am always available to discuss what the Kumon Method of Learning can do for your child, and I look forward to hearing from you.

How long does study take?

The time taken to complete a day's work may be around 30 minutes per subject. The study time is down to each individual and their current study level. Class times displayed may include a combination of in-centre and online class sessions. Please contact your Instructor for further details.

As the father of two students attending Shepherds Bush's Kumon Centre for nearly 7 years, I can attest to the efficacy of their teaching methods—particularly in mathematics. My kids' confidence in solving challenging test has grown along with their skill set thanks to the very good learning approach. The instructors especially Vinita are commendable, in addition to their knowledge, they are always encouraging and patient towards their student. They are also so welcoming to talk to about learning problems and appear to be genuinely concern of your children's development . Both my children have shown significant improvement with my daughter being considered by her teacher as one of highest performer in Math in their class. My son now has now reported the that every Math lesson at school, his classmates always ask for help from him as he boastfully declares to be the best in Math in class. This is seconded by the report of his teacher too. The building itself is kept up nicely with toilet/baby changing facilities. It should be noted, though, that during peak hours, it can get somewhat busy. Overall, I am really satisfied with our experience at Kumon Centre in Shepherds Bush and would 1000% recommend to other parent looking for supplementary education for their children.

Popular Questions

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
