About this centre
The centre was established in 1994 and welcomes students of all ages and abilities.
Many of the students come to the centre via personal recommendation and the students at the centre currently range from pre-schoolers to A level students. Students attending the centre include those who find English and/or maths challenging at school, some looking to increase their ability and some for whom English is a second language.
Overseen by the Instructor, Fabienne, there are eight to ten friendly, approachable members of staff whose role it is to support the students' development, both from an academic and a self-learning skills perspective. The team includes bright, committed students and graduates, all with excellent experience.
An adult staff member is in charge of early learners, providing one-to-one support in developing children's pencil skills, posture, momentum and stamina. Newly enrolled students are closely monitored and encouraged in developing their self-learning and correction skills until they are able to work independently.
The unique Kumon maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study. Unlike the process of a traditional tuition provider, Kumon encourages students to take their learning into their own hands.
