Welcome to the Kumon Windsor Study Centre.

The centre was first established in 2004 and provides maths and English study programmes for children of any ability. Whether you are looking for extra support for your children or to challenge them further, we are here for you!

The Kumon method offers so much more than traditional study, it nurtures your child’s independence, developing strong self-learning skills. We offer a personalised study programme that will help them reach their full potential and foster a love for learning. Kumon should not be considered a traditional tuition provider as, rather than ‘teaching’ students, we encourage them to become independent learners who feel confident in their own abilities and able to face unfamiliar work.

After an initial assessment, your child will follow an individualised study programme with work set at just the right level. They complete daily worksheets building skills and fluency in small manageable steps, as well as attending the study centre. Your child’s Kumon Instructor will set work at just the right level to challenge and keep them engaged, regardless of age or school year.

My name is Kelly and I am the Instructor at Kumon Windsor Study Centre.

I have worked in numerous roles in my 10 year career in education, ranging from Teacher, Head of Year, Assistant Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher where I have been fortunate to guide and nurture children.

I am extremely passionate about the Kumon programmes as they provide a coherent curriculum for both mathematics and English, built on the principle of mastery of the core ideas that form the foundation of advanced and complex knowledge and skills.

For me, it is essential that students are studying at just the right level for them, regardless of their age which is what makes Kumon accessible for everyone.

My goal is to nurture the joy of learning for all the children under my care. I fully trust the Kumon method, which focuses on developing each child’s potential. I will provide an environment where children will become resilient and confident and enable them to maximise their abilities in maths and English.

Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the Kumon International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. Kumon welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum.
