As the school holidays draw to a close, there is still time to get swept away in a great book. Here are a few suggestions from the Kumon Recommended Reading List of books about holidays.

Reading is a wonderful way to unwind and, with the sun shining and the summer holidays in full swing, we’ve been pondering what books we’ll be reading to keep ourselves entertained during the long break.

What with school, homework and extracurricular activities, children often have little time left for much else throughout the school term but a summer job can lead to exciting new opportunities.

With the summer holiday providing the perfect opportunity for all children to read a book or two, why not pick up a comedy book for your son, daughter, grandson or granddaughter and encourage them to get stuck in!

Today (11 July) is writer EB White's birthday. Elwyn Brooks White was born in 1899 in New York, and spent the majority of his adult life working as a non-fiction writer and editor for various news publications.
