Kumon opens its first centre in Croatia
Kumon has opened its very first study centre in Croatia, in the city of Zagreb. This means that Kumon is available in 19 countries and regions in Europe and more than 50 worldwide.
The Zagreb-Jarun centre, in the south west of the city, provides local children of all ages and abilities, the opportunity to study the Kumon Maths Programme and the very popular, English language programme. The centre is already welcoming students to classes inside the centre and in addition, offers regular classes online over Zoom for those that aren’t able to visit the centre and prefer to study remotely.
Instructor, Marija Hrebac Hlobik, was formerly a psychologist and psychotherapist and is a mother of two young children. She has trained extensively in the Kumon Method with colleagues in Germany and now brings her passion for working with children to the brand new study centre. Marija aims to develop the students’ academic and self-development abilities.
“My favourite part of the training was observing live students at Kumon centres in other countries; their curiosity, focus, task-solving skills, independence, and their pride when they find a solution. I could see they had developed a love for learning, I wanted to offer such an opportunity to children and young people in my own city.”
Marija is proud to be the Instructor of the very first Kumon centre in Croatia and looks forward to working with other Instructors as Kumon further develops across the region.
