About our centre
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday - Online Only Classes
The Kumon Bracknell, Easthampstead study centre offers maths and English tuition to children from 3 to 18 years of age, from pre-school to A-levels. At our centre, we strive to help our children build three core abilities to become well-rounded individuals: academic ability, work skills and right attitude for learning.
From the onset, we train our children to take ownership of their work by carefully reading instructions, using the worksheets for guidance and checking their work for accuracy. Children are encouraged to work at a steady pace – with aims to complete work within standard completion times, and to maintain focus on tasks for long periods of time, helping to build stamina. These work skills develop a good study attitude, resilience in tackling difficult tasks, the confidence to learn with a ‘give-it-a-go’ attitude, and most importantly a love of learning.
While the Kumon Maths programme progresses from the very basics of counting to calculus and beyond, all without the use of a calculator, our English programme trains students to become avid readers from the get-go and to summarise and critically analyse different genres of text.
Our centre is open two days per week and students can physically attend up to two classes weekly. We also offer online zoom sessions for three days a week. We have successfully introduced our tried and tested Kumon worksheets in a digital format via KUMON CONNECT, making Kumon more accessible and convenient for students to study, using their tablet and stylus anytime and from anywhere.
Our initial assessment in Maths and English is entirely free and we accept childcare or tax-free vouchers. We employ a high calibre of staff with good knowledge of Maths and English, as well as a passion towards teaching young people. We are very proud to continue offering excellent support to our students and families in and around Bracknell, Warfield and Binfield areas and continue to develop a strong rapport with our neighbouring schools.

About your Instructor
I came into teaching after working as an architect for many years in India, the UAE, and the UK. I re-trained as an educator and worked for seven years as a Primary Years’ teacher in the UAE and in state schools in the UK.
Working as a class teacher with children from different backgrounds and with different educational needs was not only challenging, but tremendously rewarding as well. It gave me an insight into the importance of individualisation and how every child is different in their style and pace of learning. After watching some of my own students excel in school and taking ownership of their learning in a matured manner, I realised they had been enrolled in the Kumon after-school Programme from an early age. This was the start of a new journey for me as I looked into becoming a Kumon Instructor, offering my knowledge and experience in the education sector!
I believe that Kumon not only helps children become academically proficient but also helps them with character building, becoming self-reliant and resilient problem solvers. As an Instructor, I aspire to help children nurture their curiosity, take ownership of their learning with confidence and fulfil their potential. This "I can do it" attitude will lead to success in everything they do in life. Seeing smiles on children’s faces when they have tackled a difficult question independently, or when they achieve one hundred percent in their classwork, is what motivates me every day.
Come and visit us at our centre where each child is valued and supported to enable them to reach their full potential.
Frequently Asked Questions
Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the Kumon International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. Kumon welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.
Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.
Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.
As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
