About this centre
The Kumon Didcot Study Centre offers maths and English support to students from three years of age to A-levels and is popular with students from Didcot and the surrounding areas. The centre has been established for several years nurturing maths and English completers. Most of our students have been enrolled for over two years and are a testament to how much daily Kumon practice supports their academic progress.
Our aim is to develop confident, independent young learners, who have the skills and ability to thrive at school and beyond. Alongside the Instructor, Dhana, there is a team of fully trained assistants who are able to guide each student to help them achieve their very best. New students and early learners are, initially, closely monitored by the assistants and Dhana in a dedicated area. Once they have developed effective study skills, under our guidance, they will begin to work more independently. The objective is to further develop their confidence and encourage self-learning, to help them go on to reach their full potential.
Students complete daily worksheet study developing their ability and fluency gradually over time, progressing in small steps and building their foundation. Dhana will set work at just the right level to challenge and keep them engaged, regardless of age or school year. This means that they can strengthen their key skills and progress beyond school year level without restriction.
We aim for our students to leave each class day feeling ‘smarter’ and more confident in their own abilities. We hold an annual awards ceremony, attended by our Kumon families and students, to celebrate and recognise students’ outstanding achievements.
