Welcome to the Kumon Dudley Study Centre.

Located at Top Church (St Thomas & St Luke), in the heart of the Dudley community, we offer the Kumon Maths and English Programmes, individualised to your child and proven by over 60 years of experience to help build ability and fluency in small manageable steps.

Our friendly team are highly trained to help your child develop a passion for trying and the discipline required to learn independently while they advance their maths and English skills. We offer a safe and nurturing environment to help your child learn important self-study skills and realise their full potential.

Our centre is open to all children, of every community, background and age. We support parents who are keen to get involved and offer regular feedback and advice on how to maximise and sustain the joy of learning through Kumon.

About the Instructor

Hello, my name is Regie. I am a passionate educator and have over 20 years of experience teaching in secondary schools and universities, both in England and internationally. I am also a Kumon parent and have seen the positive impact the maths and English programmes have had on my daughter. She began attending a Kumon centre at the age of four and seeing her quickly become more confident and better able to concentrate convinced me of the effectiveness of the Kumon Method.

My professional experience also includes international development work across three different continents. In my earlier career as a scientist, I specialised in conservation, climate change, and environmental management. This wide range of experiences enable me to connect with parents and children from different backgrounds and bring everyday topics to life, making learning more interesting and engaging.

My vision for the Kumon Dudley Study Centre is to inspire every student to progress beyond their school grade and develop resilience, confidence and a life-long passion for independent learning. Maths and English skills are fundamental to a child’s ability to succeed in today’s society, and it is my mission to provide every child with the support they need to advance and succeed.

I look forward to meeting you and your child, to help them try, to learn and to grow.

How long does study take?

The time taken to complete a day's work may be around 30 minutes per subject. The study time is down to each individual and their current study level. Class times displayed may include a combination of in-centre and online class sessions. Please contact your Instructor for further details.

Our child’s Maths and English have greatly improved since he started attending these classes! It gives children more confidence and structured practice every week. As parents, you can also track their progress daily with the touch of a button.The staff are friendly and very dedicated towards making sessions fun and rewarding. Popular Questions

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
