KUMON CONNECT available In-Centre Class available Free Trial available

The Kumon Edgware Study Centre offers maths and English study programmes to children from the ages of 3 to 18. The Kumon programmes give even more than traditional tuition does by going a step further and helping children develop self-learning skills and independence, enabling them to tackle challenging work by themselves.

Our aim is to help children of any ability to make immense progress in their academic journeys and develop a curiosity and love for learning. At the Kumon Edgware Study Centre, we believe every child can reach their potential through the incremental daily study programmes that we offer.

We make sure that children are set work according to their ability, not their age, allowing them to progress at their own pace, boosting their confidence and motivating them to excel. Every student receives a study projection that is regularly reviewed and updated, as well as regular feedback to allow parents to track progress.

The centre is open three days a week, with students attending one or two classes weekly. Attending the centre is important as it allows us to adapt each child’s weekly worksheets through observing their progress and fluency at each level.

We also offer KUMON CONNECT, which is our platform for digital study. KUMON CONNECT makes greater insight available for the Instructor, allowing them to better tailor the student’s learning.

About the Instructor

Edgware - Hemna Fargi
My name is Hemna Fargi and I am proud to be a Kumon Instructor! Thanks to my background as a Family Solicitor, I have a deep experience with working with families and am highly dedicated and efficient.

I first came across Kumon when my nephew began studying the Kumon programmes. The whole family soon saw the enormous difference it made in his academic performance and general everyday life. We witnessed my nephew grow into an admirable young man and this has largely been because of the skills instilled in him by Kumon. As being able to guide and help people learn is something that has always been close to my heart, I realised that the best way to pursue this passion was by becoming a Kumon Instructor and help other children experience the same benefits as my nephew.

As a lawyer, I have dealt with many different people across many different walks of life, and this has helped me understand the importance of feeling heard and understood. Likewise, each child is different, and the Kumon Method allows me to put together a unique study programme for each of my students, tailored to their specific needs. This personalisation allows every child to develop a solid platform from which to learn and grow from.

Popular Questions

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
