The centre has been running successfully for 12 years and is an integral part of the local community, with students attending from numerous local schools.

The youngest child at the centre is three years old and the oldest is 16 years old. Several children have been attending the centre for many years and are nearing the completion of their Kumon journeys. A large majority of the children at the centre are also currently comfortably working at levels advanced for their age group.

Through daily study, both at the study centre and independently at home, Kumon goes further than traditional methods of tuition by ensuring students maintain a level of development every day.

The centre has a warm and friendly atmosphere and is run by the Instructor, Neha Jain. Several assistants at the centre have been there for over ten years.

The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study.

How long does study take?

The time taken to complete a day's work may be around 30 minutes per subject. The study time is down to each individual and their current study level. Class times displayed may include a combination of in-centre and online class sessions. Please contact your Instructor for further details.

My 7 year old son started his Kumon English classes from year 2 it’s been more than a year and we could see remarkable progress in his reading and writing skills now when he has progressed into his year 3 classes. The program is well structured and exhaustive with kids learning with their own steady pace , worksheets and home works enable more practising at home. My 6-year-old daughter started attending Kumon Math tuition in April and recently began English as well. I am extremely happy with the program. The structured worksheets provide plenty of practice, and I’ve noticed significant improvement in her skills. Kumon has helped her build confidence in both subjects, and I highly recommend it for any child who enjoys learning through consistent practice. Neha runs a spectacular centre. Her staff are professional and she is hands on herself with all her students. She provides parents with ample feedback and advice and is kind and caring towards her students. My son has loved his time at Kumon and is learning the basics and more complex aspects of mathematics with confidence.

My son has been attending Kumon Finchley for maths since he was 3, and the progress has been remarkable. The programme is very well-structured, allowing him to develop a solid foundation at his own pace. Tina, an experienced early-years educator, has been brilliant in guiding him, making learning both effective and enjoyable. His Kumon bag has become his most valuable asset, as he really enjoys doing his homework.

Popular Questions

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
