About our centre

The Kumon maths and English Study Programmes aim to bring out the best in every child, regardless of age or ability, and help them to reach their potential and foster a love of learning. Through individualised programmes with work set at just the right level, your child will be able to build strong learning foundations, not only developing ability in maths and English but transferable skills that will help them achieve across all subjects.  

Children learn through example questions in our worksheets along with Instructor guidance. This method of learning offers so much more than traditional tuition: it nurtures your child’s independence, developing strong self-learning skills to give them the tools to help them excel in the future. Because Kumon does not follow the school curriculum and work is set according to ability, irrespective of age, our programmes allow learners both to fill in any missing gaps in their study foundations as well as the opportunity to work ahead of their school grade level. Your local Instructor will assess your child to determine at what point in the programme they should begin their Kumon study, then through daily work coupled with up to twice weekly study centre visits, they will build both self-confidence and crucial skills in small manageable steps.

About your Instructor

My name is Mohammed Juned Uddin, and I'm deeply passionate about guiding children on their learning journey and helping them unlock their full potential. With a degree from the University of Cumbria and over six years’ experience as a Primary School teacher, I've had the privilege of working with children from a wide range of age groups and have developed a strong understanding of their unique needs.

At the Kumon Manor Park Study Centre, my team and I go the extra mile by nurturing each child individually. My goal is to equip our students with the study skills and knowledge that they require to excel academically and grow personally. Witnessing a child’s pride as they master material they had previously struggled with fills me with immense joy. These are the moments when the true effectiveness of the Kumon Method of Learning shines through.

I hold a firm belief that every child possesses the capability to chase and achieve their dreams. At the centre, we approach our students with empathy, tailoring our guidance to their current abilities. In an environment that fosters growth, they are empowered to achieve their full potential. I am dedicated to nurturing the unique abilities of every child, guiding them towards success in their chosen pursuits. Frequently Asked Questions

Both, and every child in between. This is because of our individualised approach to education, which always asks the question: "What is best for this individual child?" Following a diagnostic test, a study plan is set to develop the ability of the child and to progress them beyond the Kumon International Standard (an international approximation of their school level) regardless of their starting point. Kumon welcomes students with special educational needs, gifted and talented children, and all those who believe they can achieve more and fulfil their potential.

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
