Welcome to the Kumon Slough Langley Study Centre.

The centre was first established in 1991 and provides Kumon Maths and English Programmes, individualised for children according to their ability.

At the Slough Langley Study Centre, your newly enrolled child will be guided during their first days so they start their Kumon journey on the right foot. Early learners sit with a dedicated assistant to develop the right study skills, like concentration, stamina, and pencil control. Progress through the each level of the programmes ensures your child is working independently above the international standard for their age. Instructor Rashmi Pathak has a team of dedicated assistants, many of whom have completed the programmes themselves or are currently studying the advanced levels.

The unique Kumon Maths and English Programmes pursue the potential of each child by developing confident, independent learners through individualised, advanced study. Unlike traditional tuition providers, Kumon encourages students to take their learning into their own hands. The role of the Kumon Instructor is to provide guidance, support and encouragement, allowing the student to develop their own independent learning strategies.

About the Instructor

Slough Langley - Rashmi Pathak

My name is Rashmi Pathak and it is with great pleasure that I have taken over the Kumon Slough Langley Study Centre from my mother Bala, who successfully ran two Kumon study centres for nearly twenty years.

Taking over the study centre is particularly special for me because I completed the Kumon Maths Programme myself back in 2010. Having studied with Kumon for 13 years, I can understand a student’s journey through the Kumon Maths and English Programmes and this special insight will help me guide future students to achieve their maximum potential.

The skills I gained at Kumon helped me go onto university, where I graduated with a BSc Honours Degree in Optometry, and at work in my demanding role as a professional optometrist.

A combination of my experience with Kumon, my belief in the programme, my passion for education, alongside my team of highly trained assistants (all of whom have studied the Kumon programme) will help your child to reach their full potential and achieve success in maths and English.

I welcome you to contact me today to discuss how the Kumon programmes can help your child, and look forward to working with both as you start your Kumon journey.

Popular Questions

Kumon is a self-learning programme with each student receiving regular support from their Instructor. The carefully developed worksheets teach students how to find the answer for themselves, whilst their Instructor offers guidance when necessary. The key role of each Kumon Instructor is to observe their students working, either in the centre or their online class, making sure that work is set at the right level and that they are developing at the right pace.

Students can start learning with Kumon from age two upwards. We currently have students as young as two years old studying with us, ranging all the way up to those about to go to university; Kumon helps children of any age and any ability. The sooner children begin, the earlier they can start developing skills to gain the greatest cumulative benefit; as soon as you feel your family is ready to make the commitment to long-term study, Kumon will be ready to help you achieve your goal.

Kumon offers much more than tutoring and differs from traditional teaching in the classroom. Rather than preparing children for a particular test or assessment, Kumon empowers students to learn for themselves, through individualised instruction and carefully developed worksheets.

As well as developing key skills in maths and English, each Kumon student will work towards building their independent learning skills and confidence in their own abilities. This means that a Kumon student will not be dependent on – or limited by – the skills and knowledge of others.

As a global programme, Kumon does not follow a school curriculum, but rather is complementary to curricula across the world. The primary aim of the Kumon Method is to develop independent learning skills. These independent learning skills enhance the students’ performance right across the school curriculum. Kumon operates at exactly the right level for each student – regardless of their age – ensuring that work set extends and develops their skills, confidence and ability.
